Dalaman is an area of great natural beauty, located between the Mediterranean sea and the unspoilt coastal mountains. It is close to many historical, cultural and geographical areas of interest.
The town is situated close to many popular resorts such as Dalyan, Gocek, Sarigerme. Chosen as a Tourism Development Area by the Turkish Government, Dalaman while still very much a Turkish town with a vibrant local culture, is benefiting from major investments in its infrastructure (a new airport terminal, tunnels and roads) and major tourism projects (new hotels, a golf course and marina).
Activities include white water rafting, diving, sailing and horse riding. There are plans to build four golf courses in Dalaman and Sarigerme. The first one is already underway. There are two main beaches in the area: the protected Izluzu Beach, the world’s 6th most famous beach and the blue flagged Sarigerme Beach.
Akkaya – the location is stunning with villas scattered widely across the mountainside, amongst pine trees, olive groves and meadows, overlooking an emerald green lake. This is Mediterranean Turkey at its most secluded and unspoilt, yet Akkaya is just 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport which is now serviced by year-round charter flights from the UK.
Despite the secluded rural setting the facilities at Akkaya will be second to none with tennis courts, swimming pools, shops, a café and restaurant.
